Three big ideas

  • We live among many people — family, neighbours, friends and helpers. Living in harmony means living together happily.
  • People may look, speak, dress or pray differently, and that is wonderful. We respect everyone.
  • We help each other — a neighbour shares food, a friend helps you study. Kind acts build a happy community.

Think. A new child who speaks a different language joins your class. How can you help?

Smile, share your things, play together, and teach each other words. Soon you will be good friends.

  • We share the earth with plants and animals. They give us food, air and joy, so we must care for them.
  • We can plant trees, water plants, feed birds and never harm animals.
  • We keep our surroundings clean — using dustbins, not wasting water, and keeping ponds and parks tidy.
Remember: The earth is a shared home. If we hurt nature, we hurt ourselves too. Caring for nature is caring for everyone.
  • People sometimes disagree. Living in harmony means solving problems without fighting.
  • We talk calmly, listen to each other, take turns and share instead of quarrelling.
  • Saying sorry and forgiving brings back peace. A small kind word can end a big fight.

Think. Two friends both want the last swing. What is a peaceful solution?

They can take turns — one swings now, the other next. Sharing keeps both friends happy.

Where you'll see it

Harmony all around us

A friendly street

When neighbours greet each other, share festivals and help in need, the whole street feels safe and warm.

A green colony

People who plant trees and keep parks clean give everyone — and the birds — a healthier place to live.

A happy classroom

Sharing, taking turns and helping a classmate who is stuck makes the class a peaceful place to learn.
